Errors Found in Nordic Championship Group Stunt Results, Impacting Final Placement

Announcement 9.2.2026

At the Nordic Championship Group Stunt divisions, held at Turku’s Gatorade Center, on Friday, January 30, 2026, errors were identified in the published results of the Group Stunt divisions. These errors affected the final rankings and scores in the Partner Stunt division as well as the Junior and Senior Group Stunt divisions.

This year, live scoring was used at an unprecedented scale, with scores being published immediately after each performance. During the divisions, a system error occurred in the scoring software, requiring manual operation using a backup calculation method, during which the error happened.

The evaluation of the performances was carried out correctly, and there were no uncertainties in that process. An error caused by manual handling affected the onsite publication of the results and the results summary on the website. The score sheets sent to the athletes from the scoring system after the competition were correct. The error was verified by comparing the score sheets from the scoring system with the published results.

Partner Stunt Division:
In the final standings, the Norwegian placements (3rd and 4th place) exchange order. Athletes Myrholt and Randen (Viqueens Cheerleaders) place third, and Bredland and Lind (Nedre Romerike Cheerleaders Tigers) place fourth.

Junior Group Stunt Division:
In the final standings, the Finnish placements (2nd and 3rd place) exchange order. This means that Helsinki Athletics Cheerleaders group (Heikinoja, Kivijärvi, Rovamo, Sallinen, Tikkanen) places second, and West Coast Vikings group from Vaasa (Harju, Koivusaari, Perälä, Voutilainen) places third.

Senior Group Stunt Division:
In the final standings, the Finnish and Norwegian placements (6th and 7th place) exchange order. This means that West Coast Vikings group from Vaasa (Backström, Kastrén, Kamppinen, Koskinen, Koukkari) places sixth and Nedre Romerike Cheerleaders Tigers’ group (Holte, Nesset, Myrvold, Ugland) places seventh.

The Finnish Cheerleading Federation deeply apologizes for the incident and for the disappointment and confusion caused to the athletes regarding their placements. We are thoroughly investigating the scoring system malfunction that led us to switch to partial manual calculations in a challenging and fast-paced situation. Our goal is to ensure that similar situations cannot occur in the future.
